1. I brought a croissant, orange slices, chocolate pieces, and blueberries. To decorate the scene I brought a glass white plate, decorative napkin, and a sunflower napkin ring. I placed it all on a white tablecloth from the class supplies.
2. I learned that the moisture and frost in beer commercials is all synthetic, much to my disappointment. I also learned about how the food stylist and photographer work together to create a scene. I learned how different angles and styles can influence the response that is evoked in the viewer. I learned how reflectors are used to create perfect lighting. I learned that using natural light is best for food. Lastly I learned the importance of setting and surrounding in food photography. 3. I used a reflector and natural light while photographing. I also used a shallow depth of field, as well as arranging the food carefully. 4. While photographing the food, I learned the importance of reflectors and natural lighting, the importance of looking for different angles and styles while shooting the food, and how to create a setting that brought harmony to the image. 5. Some businesses that use food photography would be produce or food magazines, grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, hotels, product advertisement, and catering services. 6. I think I succeeded in creating a setting that brought harmony to the photo. There were many warm colors that were accented by the gold reflector. This is something I'd like to try again, because I'd love to try it with cooked or baked food that my mom might make. For this project I wanted to use food that was portable and easy to set up, so it'd be fun to prepare a larger or more complicated meal/setting to photograph.

After photographing different objects that resembled the letters of my name, I pasted each file into the template Photoshop project. I used the transform tool to make the letters fit to the guides in the Photoshop project. Then, with each of them as its own layer, I changed the hues and brightness of each letter photo so that each letter would have similar tones. The most difficult part was finding objects that resembled the letters I needed. I also struggled with the retouching as I tried to get the letters to be as similar in tone as possible. I was proud of figuring out how to use the black and white adjustment tool to make the tones balance out. The thing I like most about the artwork is the scaling and cropping of each image, allowing each letter to be about the same size. I think I could have photographed better objects and do some better editing to make it look smoother; I tried doing this as fast as possible and now I see that I sacrificed some quality to do this.
In ten years, I see myself exploring my hobby as a musician. While working in computer science, I would like to write, produce, and perform music on the side, as it has always been my true passion. I would love to have the freedom to meet with other creators in collaboration to make new original art together. I plan to live with friends in a comfortable home located away from, but in driving distance to, a major city. I would like to play basketball and other sports, as well as eat healthy food as much as possible in order to stay healthy and in shape. As far as my personal life, I would like to stay in touch with my family and religion in the future. In this photo, I am with Drake in his studio in Toronto working on music. I would love to be in a studio in a creative enviroment in collaboration with a major and talented artist whom I look up to. I Photoshopped myself over an image of Noah "40" Shebib, Drake's main producer. I have a great deal of respect for 40 and I believe he is incredibly talented in production and composition.
In order to accomplish these photos in Photoshop, I first selected the images I wanted from Google using an advanced search that allowed me to browse only large files. I found two photos of Noah "40" Shebib, a music producer for the OVO record label based in Toronto. I then had my good ol' pal Enzo photograph me in two poses, with each one mimicking the pose of 40 in the images. I selected the area around my head with the lasso tool to palce my image on top of the original photos of 40. Next, I set the opacity to 60%, then transformed the image by scaling and rotating it to ensure that it matched over the image of 40's face. I then made that layer a layer mask, allowing me to use the brush with a black/white colorset to trim around my face to make it flush. In both photos, 40's head did not match mine, so I had to use the clone stamp tool on the background layer to make sure the outline of his head was not visible around mine. Finally, I use the inner shadow effect in the blending options of the layer with my face to make the lighting look more flush with the rest of the image. |
